Fjord Yarn Kit

This pattern is designed in collaboration with KOKON Yarn.

The KOKON BLEU is a merino wool has a gorgeous soft drape. The Speckles and Tie Dye yarn colours reminded Midori of winter fjord landscape in Arctic Norway with snow-covered mountains and deep blue water.

The idea of this pullover according to Midori is to “tuck in”. Therefore the pullover has only some positive ease (not extra oversized) and light and soft texture at a loose gauge, which gives beautiful drape to garment.

When you wear a knitted garment with heavier yarn with a loose gauge, it will be stretch under its own weight, especially at the shoulder and neckline. Midori decided to use this effect as a design element. It was not quite predictable, but after many tries Midori found the perfect fit.

Midori also made a mohair flower, which can be put on the pullover. The flower is also included in pattern.

The pattern is worked seamlessly from the top down. It is a very quick project with big size needles.
